Gwynedd North Police asking Team executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act in the Bangor area this morning, 10 August, which also resulted in the recovery of a stolen mountain bike.
North Wales Police said: “During the warrant a mountain bike was seized as it was suspected to be stolen and a few hours later has been reunited with the rightful owner.
“It transpired that this mountain bike had been stolen from the Bangor area a few months earlier and was worth in excess of £3,000. The suspect has now been identified and we will be speaking to that individual in due course.”
Sergeant Hughes of North Wales Police added: “I would urge everyone to be mindful of the security around their push bikes and to ensure that they are not left unattended for any period of time.
“North Wales Police treat the theft of property very seriously and will act upon all information where possible. If you have any information as to the whereabouts of any stolen property then please let us know.”
Police also confirmed a quantity of ‘white substance’ was recovered which will be tested in due course.
Further positive work by the Gwynedd North Tasking Team this afternoon has resulted in a man being arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
Sergeant Hughes said “Following further proactive work this afternoon a man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply by the Gwynedd North Tasking Team. The team tackle all crime types and I would thank the public for their information and continued support”.
