Residents in Maestryfan, Bangor, have started a fundraising page with the aim of improving facilities for children in playground at Trem Elidir.

Following a meeting with local councillors in June, residents have also setup a committee with the aim of moving the project forward.

Local resident Ben Popat said: “We want to let Bangor know the quest to improve the playground goes on

“We’ve had permission from Gwynedd Council to upgrade the park equipment and to start a community garden in neighbouring ‘Cae Doctor’

“We are communicating with council officials to outline the next stages.

“We have completed door to door questionnaires with the local community to see what they would like in the park and the community garden.

“There’s so much going on behind the scenes, working with local County and City Councillor Elin Walker Jones.

“We are 100% reliant on donations and the generosity of locals and local businesses and grants as the council ‘have no money’ to support the project.

“We have a Go Fund Me page to raise much needed funds to get started on making the area more welcoming and presentable. This currently stands at £265 of £1000

“We are appealing for donations of money and or plants, materials, and labour.”
