Jennifer Jones, who is originally from Bangor, will be joining BBC Wales’ main English language news programme ‘Wales Today’ following the departure of broadcaster Jamie Owen in January.
Jennifer was born and brought up in Bangor, she attended Ysgol Tryfan and was also a member of Ysgol Glanaethwy. Already a familiar face on the Wales Today programme, Jennifer has been working as a presenter regularly, she has previously presented the Welsh-language news programme Newyddion.
The team of three presenters will also include current presenter Lucy Owen and BBC Wales’ political editor Nick Servini. They will present the lunchtime, evening and late bulletins on BBC One Wales, from Monday 4th June 2018.
Jennifer said: “Being one of the main presenters on Wales Today is a huge privilege and I’m delighted to be part of such a hard-working and talented team of journalists.”
Lucy Owen, who has presented the programme for more than 10 years, also presents the consumer show X-Ray, said having three presenters would give her more opportunity to work on location within the programme.
