Police officers in Bangor have appealed to the public for information after thieves targeted the Cancer Research shop on Bangor High Street. Police have described the burglars as “disgusting”.

The break-in occurred sometime between 6pm on Thursday 4th October and 8am this morning (Friday 5th), the offender(s) broke into the shop by kicking through the back door.

The burglars then knocked down a security camera in the shop before opening the till which thankfully didn’t contain any cash, they then left the shop empty handed.

PC Lisa Thomas from the local policing team said: “I am disgusted that someone would stoop so low as to burgle a charity shop and we are committed to doing everything we can to trace those responsible.

“Whilst our enquiries continue to identify those responsible, I would encourage anyone who may have any information or anybody who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the vicinity to come forward and contact us as soon as possible.”
