Mike Peters, lead singer with Welsh rock band The Alarm, has once again praised the incredible care and treatment he has received from the doctors and staff of Alaw ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.
Mike returned to the UK earlier this month from Germany when he suddenly fell ill, while he was on tour with The Alarm . Thanks to the care he’s received, he’s now recovering well and the tour dates that were cancelled will now be re-scheduled.
Mike, who has received treatment intermittently for lymphoma for more than 20 years, said: “Knowing that I was coming back to Dr Edwards and the team on the Alaw Unit, who I knew would do their utmost to make sure I was back on track very quickly, softened the blow of having to postpone our European Tour a few weeks ago”.
Snowdonia Rocks
Following the successful completion of the By Your Side Cancer care campaign, the charity Mike founded with his wife Jules, Love Hope Strength, will be organising this year’s Snowdon Rocks which will take place on 23rd June 2018.
Renamed Snowdonia Rocks, a new more inclusive hike, which is now suitable for all ages and abilities, will take place in a different part of the mountain range from this year.
Mike has vowed today to be well enough to lead the Hike and curate the special evening of music and entertainment which will follow it, Zip World Rocks. The money raised from the event will help support our cancer services here in North Wales.
