Bangor is set for a spectacular festive celebration as Santa returns this year, trading his traditional sleigh for a motorbike, and he’s inviting bikers from across the region to join him for a charity ride like no other.

The “Santa’s Sleigh Swap: Christmas Motorbike Ride with Friends” will take place on Sunday, 21st December 2025, bringing colour, music and Christmas cheer to Bangor High Street.

Organised by Grŵp Cymunedol Bangor Community Group in partnership with Hwb Westend Hub Youth Club, this year’s event promises to be bigger, brighter and even more meaningful. The ride will be held in loving memory of local Grand Prix, TT and Ulster Grand Prix champion Tommy Robb, while also raising vital funds for the much-needed extension to Alaw Ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

For many years, Santa has delighted families as he waves from his motorbike, spreading joy to children and parents alike. This time, he’s calling on all his biker friends to join him on a festive, tinsel-trimmed ride from Trac Môn to Bangor High Street, where a full afternoon of family fun awaits.

“Every year, Santa gets to see the smiles on the children’s faces as he rides through,” organisers said. “This year, he wanted to do something even more special, bringing the community together, celebrating Christmas, and raising money for an important local cause.”

Event Schedule – Sunday 21st December

  • 10:30 am: Bikers gather at Trac Môn, Anglesey
  • 12:15 pm: Santa and friends arrive at Bangor High Street
  • 12:00 – 4:15 pm: Live music, festive stalls, children’s funfair and family entertainment throughout the afternoon

The High Street will be transformed with music, rides, food, stalls and plenty of chances to meet Santa himself, this time arriving on two wheels!

Organisers hope to see both riders and spectators turn out in force: “Please come and support the event, enjoy the festivities and help us make this a celebration to remember. And if you’re a biker, come ride with Santa!”
