Ben Hughes, a pupil in Year 9 at Ysgol Friars in Bangor, passed his second Dan Black Belt in Karate after completing a challenging examination at an International Karate course held in Paisley, Scotland during the summer holiday.
He excelled in the grading under the supervision of the world-famous Sensei Masao Kawasoe, 8th Dan JKA, and Sensei Nemoto JKA, who had travelled from the Karate Headquarters in Japan.
Ben regularly trains at the Seki Ryu Zan Karate Club, located at the Bangor Normal Site Gym, LL57 2PZ, every Monday and Thursday evening.
