The hard working volunteer members of Bangor Community Group have ensured that Santa will visit Bangor this December, after doubts whether a grotto could be found in time.

Santa’s visit seemed to be in jeopardy this year, but organisers have announced the grotto will now be held in the Bangor Debenhams Store, thanks to members of the community working together.

The organisers are promising a ‘magical look and feel for everyone‘ when the grotto is complete for when Santa visits on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December, 10am-4pm.

The festivities will also coincide with Bangor Christmas Market on Sunday 15th December, when there will be over 60 stalls on Bangor High Street and the Deiniol Shopping Centre, which promises to be a truly memorable weekend.

A full day of entertainment has also been arranged for Sunday 15th December at Tan Y Fynwent (adjacent to the main bus stops near Bangor High Street) with a covered stage in place for the entertainers.

Clair Tipton Pritchard of the Bangor Community group said: “After thinking we were not going to be able to have a grotto this year.. we’ve done it and in true style!

“This year our grotto will take place in the Debenhams store in Bangor, with a magical look and feel for everyone on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December.

“It’s going to be a fantastic weekend and bring some Christmas spirit to our city, please help spread the word and come and support our city at Christmas.”
