Bangor snowboarder Maisie Potter, 20, is just one ‘good run’ away from representing Team GB at The 2018 Winter Olympics, in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

This would be would be her first Games in only her second season at the top tier of racing. In an interview with BBC Wales, Maisie said her chances of going to the Olympics are probably about 8/10.

Maisie said: “I’m really close, my last result in Argentina was probably about two spots away, so it’s given me the confidence going into the next races. I need to be in the top 30.

“It all feels very surreal and it’s all happening very fast, but I’m embracing it. This winter everything started a bit earlier with the Olympics being in February, we went to Argentina and Chile, in August and September, I had two races then and another three before Christmas, so it’s a case of fitting it all in before February.

“Moving into the world cup was a big jump, I’m still learning so much, which keeps it exciting, I feel like I’m improving faster, I’m taking more risks and pushing myself a lot more.

“The feeling of qualifying for the Olympics would be indescribable, I’d be proud to represent Team GB.”

Good Luck Maisie!
