Arriva bus services will be disrupted in Bangor for the rest of the week, due to ‘increased employee absence’ the company have confirmed.

A staff member at the Arriva depot in Bangor tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week. The person infected is understood to be a member of the ‘support function’ and is not a driver.

Other staff members at the site will be required to self-isolate if contacted by NHS Test and Trace or a public health professional, according to the company.

An Arriva spokesperson told North Wales Live: “The safety of our customers and colleagues is Arriva’s number one priority. We are being guided every step of the way by expert organisations such as the Health and Safety Executive and Public Health Wales.

“We can confirm that a colleague in Bangor has tested positive for Covid-19, we are fully supporting any colleagues who may be requested to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace or a public health professional.

“We will continue to follow all the latest guidance to keep our workspaces and buses Covid-19 secure and our colleagues and customers safe.”
