Sarah Wynn Griffiths, a Radio Presenter on MônFM and Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd has been nominated for the prestigious award ‘Seren y Sîn’ (Star of the Music Scene) by Y Selar magazine for her work.
From radio shows, to interviews, to online music festivals and lockdown sessions, 2020 was hectic for Sarah, who also creates her own music.
Y Selar Awards aim to reward contemporary bands and musical artists who have been active in the Welsh language scene over the past year.
A panel of contributors and other knowledgeable friends at Y Selar magazine compiled long lists for the categories based on nominations from the public. Now, the choice will be back in the public hands with the vote to select shortlists and winners.
Instead of a big gig in Aberystwyth to celebrate past winners, the winners of the Awards will be announced over a week of activity on BBC Radio Cymru from 8 to 12 February.
Sarah said “I’m very emotional to be nominated for the prestigious ‘Star of the Music Scene’ award by Y Selar. Music is my life and being an artist myself, I make sure I give the artists the attention they deserve. I love presenting on MônFM and Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd and am very proud to be presenting on both stations. Thank you so much for the nomination.”
Voting for Y Selar Awards is now open and closes on Friday 15 January 2021.
