Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, opened the doors to its brand-new Caernarfon Road store for the first time on Thursday 28th July.

With one of the best working environments in the UK, and one of the highest rates of pay in the sector, Aldi is seeking to recruit local people. Roles available will include progression through Aldi’s industry leading training and access to career growth opportunities.

Aldi has up to 10 new full-time roles available at its Caernarfon Road store and is committed to providing jobs for local residents in Bangor. Aldi’s rates of pay are significantly higher than the Government’s National Living Wage and also above the Living Wage Foundation’s recommended national rates.

Store Assistants currently receive a minimum hourly rate of £10.10 nationally, however, as of September this year Aldi will increase its hourly rate to £10.50 making it the highest paying food retailer in the UK.

A spokesperson for Aldi said: “We are delighted that we have already recruited eight staff members for our new Bangor store as well as retaining all of our existing staff from the Garth Road store. However, we still have up to 10 positions available for local people.”

“We are committed to providing local workers with long term stable jobs with wages well above the market average and the offer of internal promotion and career progression.”
