Clwb Rygbi Bangor has launched a weekly lottery to raise money for improvements at the club, with a £2,000 jackpot and a further £100 in guaranteed cash prizes each week.
The Bangor Lotto costs £2.50 per line. Entries close at 7pm each Sunday and the draw takes place that evening. Players can enter for a single week, buy entries for a set number of weeks or set up an automatic weekly entry.
The club says 60% of the money raised will go directly into its investment fund, which pays for improvements to facilities and supports activities for the local community. One of the goals listed on the club’s lottery page is to repair its floodlights and upgrade them to LED lighting so players can train safely throughout the year.
The club supports local schools, other sports teams and community events. It says it offers people of all ages and abilities a chance to make friends and develop skills they can use beyond rugby, whether they get involved as players, coaches, volunteers, referees or sponsors.
A club representative said: “We’d love people from across Bangor and the surrounding communities to get involved. There are some great prizes to play for, and every entry helps us provide better facilities and activities locally, so we just think it’s a great opportunity for everyone linked with the area. With tickets starting at £2.50 and flexible ways to play online, give it a go.”
The club expects to announce details of its latest investment and what it plans to do next in the coming weeks.
