Joker: Folie à Deux (15)

NTLive: Present Laughter (PG) ENCORE

Thursday 10 October

The multi-award-winning production of Noël Coward’s provocative comedy featuring Andrew Scott (Vanya, Fleabag) returns to the big screen. As he prepares to embark on an overseas tour, star actor Garry Essendine’s colourful life is in danger of spiralling out of control. Engulfed by an escalating identity crisis as his many and various relationships compete for his attention, Garry’s few remaining days at home are a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic and soul-searching. Filmed live from The Old Vic in London during a sold-out run in 2019, Matthew Warchus (Matilda The Musical) directs this giddy and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire and loneliness.

Weekend of events to celebrate our friend and colleague – Emyr Glyn Williams (Emyr Ankst)

Pontio presents a weekend of special events this October to celebrate and remember our friend and colleague, Emyr Glyn Williams (Emyr Ankst).

Psylence was one of the most exciting events Emyr organised here at Pontio with bands such as Datblygu, Adwaith and R. Seiliog setting live scores to various films such as Andy Warhol’s Kiss, Maya Deren’s short films, Dovzhenko’s Earth and much more.

Emyr’s saying was ‘build it, and they will come’ – so, we are building on the most innovative, exciting and bold events Emyr curated, with a full weekend of events; Psylence 2024 is the biggest yet.

All proceeds will go to charities Cancer Research UK as chosen by Emyr’s family.

MonologAYE Book Launch

Friday 11 October 7pm

BLAS Pontio ac Atebol are proud to announce the launch of “MonologAYE,” a collection of monologues that give a platform to Bangor’s diverse voices.

“MonologAYE” has developed from a number of collaborative projects between BLAS, Pobl i Pobl, and the North Wales African Society. Through this work, it became clear that many people who live in Bangor have unique stories to share – whether that be personal stories or reflections on life in the city.

This is a special opportunity to celebrate the diversity and creativity of the people of Bangor, giving a platform to voices that are not always heard and putting Bangor on the map.

Bilingual event with simultaneous translation

Palas Print will be selling books on the night.
