A well-known Bangor Hotel is entering a new era, with Tŷ Glyndŵr Hotel & Su’s Cocktail Bar set to open on Friday, 15 August 2025.

The Hotel, situated opposite Bangor railway station, has been part of Bangor’s hospitality scene for decades, and was previously known as the Waverley, and more recently as the Traxx Hotel. Now, following a full rebranding and new management, it is stepping into a new chapter as a hotel and cocktail bar.

The kitchen will be led by Nuk, an award-winning chef from Dublin, who will bring a fusion-style menu blending Thai inspiration with contemporary flavours. Alongside the food offering, the venue will boast a stylish cocktail bar serving creative drinks to complement the menu. Guests will also be able to book one of 15 newly styled boutique rooms, designed to offer a comfortable and modern stay for both leisure and business travellers.

The relaunch will invite locals and visitors alike to enjoy an evening of live music, freshly made cocktails, and bold fusion cuisine in the freshly refurbished venue.

The opening night promises to be a lively affair, with music to set the tone, a showcase of the bar’s signature cocktails, and a chance to sample the kitchen’s fusion dishes.

For the new management team, the vision is clear: to create a destination where guests can enjoy great food, memorable drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere all under one roof. By reviving a building steeped in Bangor’s hospitality history, they hope to blend the charm of the past with the excitement of something fresh and modern.

So, mark your calendars: on 15 August, as Tŷ Glyndŵr Hotel & Su’s Cocktail Bar opens its doors for an evening and a new era not to be missed.
