The 60163 Tornado locomotive steam train is returning to North Wales today, 4 May. ‘The Ynys Môn Express’ will be travelling along the North Wales mainline and is expected to stop in Bangor at 11:58am – 12:01pm.
The locomotive will be travelling from the East Midlands and North Staffs to Holyhead and returning later this afternoon, offering passengers a wonderful day out to North Wales and trainspotters, sightseers and photographers the opportunity to see this great steam train.
On the return journey the locomotive is expected to stop in Bangor at 5.38pm
The tour departs Leicester at 07:01 but will be hauled via Loughborough (07:20), East Midlands Parkway (07:33), Uttoxeter (08:25), Stoke on Trent (08:54), and Crewe (09:21) by a diesel locomotive.
The 60163 takes over the train at Crewe and will head via Chester (10:32), Shotton (10:41), Rhyl (11:03), Llandudno Junction (11:20) Bangor (11:58) and Valley (12:26) before arriving into Holyhead at 12:33.
The return journey will see the engine depart at 17:04 and will head via the North Wales Coast, via Bangor (17:38), Llandudno Junction (18:02), Prestatyn (18:42), Flint (18:56), Chester (19:15), and Crewe (19:41).
