Staff & students from Bangor University’s School of History, Law and Social Sciences will ‘Go the Extra Mile’ for Justice this Friday, 5 November, helping the most vulnerable in society access legal help and support.
The Staff & students will be running and walking as many miles as they can to raise funds to help those in need access justice when they need it.
They will be raising money for Reaching Justice Wales which funds advice services across Wales for those that need them the most. They will be at Treborth Track from 11am-1pm on Friday, if you’d like to join them for some of that time, even if you’d just like to walk or jog a couple of laps, they would be delighted to see you.
By sponsoring the effort you will helping prevent homelessness, gain care for the elderly and disabled and fight exploitation for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
The money we raise will help to keep local agencies operating and giving ‘ACCESS TO JUSTICE’ to as many people as possible.
The 20th annual Pro Bono Week will take place this year from 1st to 5th November 2021. It will offer an opportunity to recognise and support the voluntary contribution made by the legal profession across the UK in giving free legal help to those in need.
Law firms, chambers, legal societies, charities, in-house lawyers, law schools and universities are encouraged to plan events or comms campaigns, both internal or external, to take place throughout the week. Many organisations will also take the opportunity to publish reports or launch new initiatives to an engaged pro bono audience. Events will be a mixture of online, in-person and hybrid events.
