Three Bangor primary schools are closed today after overnight snow and freezing temperatures have forced the schools to close on health and safety grounds, while some staff members have been unable to come in due to the adverse weather conditions.

Ysgol Hirael will be closed all day due to the road and paths around the school being extremely dangerous and slippery and some members of staff can not come in.

Ysgol Glancegin is closed today due to Health and Safety issues and some staff members unable to come in.

Ysgol Llandygai will be closed today as members of staff are unable to get to the school due to the snow.

Ysgol Cae Top informed parents this morning that the car park and pavement haven’t been gritted and that some staff are in but there are many who can’t make it ’till later on and for children to ‘please stay at home if you can’.

A Met office weather warning remains in place until 10am today, tomorrow is likely to be warmer with heavy rain forecast.
