Following the successful opening of its Broughton store in Spring, the family owned Clogau Welsh jewellery brand, will open stores in Bangor, Llandudno, Swansea and a new, larger site for its successful outlet store at Cheshire Oaks.

Recent winners of Jewellery & Watch Supplier of the Year at the 2018 UK Jewellery Awards, Clogau, a small Welsh business with a big vision, has emerged as one of Wales’ fastest growing, exportable brands.

Clogau will open at 246 High Street, Bangor, at the site of the existing Gregory’s Jewellers, which announced its closure this week, due to retirement of the owners after 35 years in business.

Every Clogau piece, containing rare gold from the Clogau St David’s mine, is inspired by a wonderful story – whether it be nature, the natural beauty of Wales, its wonderful myths & legends or the unique association with royalty. Since 1923, the British Royal Family have favoured pure Welsh gold to create their wedding rings – a tradition which was carried into its 95th year with the most recent royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As one of the jewellery industry’s most successful omni-channel retailers, the new stores are part of Clogau’s long term strategic vision. Working with a stellar in – house team, local partners and national agencies, Clogau has created a retail experience that will delight shoppers. Some of the new stores will carry exclusive collections and all will offer Compose by Clogau, the brainchild of Managing Director Ben Roberts. It’s one of the most innovative and unique bridal jewellery concepts to hit the high street in recent years.

With the UK High Street facing tough trading times, Clogau’s expansion brings a much needed boost to the local economies where the new stores will be located.  20-30 new jobs will be created and the brand will engage with other local businesses to make the most of the commercial opportunities

Ben Roberts, Managing Director comments on the exciting new prospect:

“I am really proud to be opening stores close to home where the business first started in Colwyn Bay, our first stores in North Wales.  We have worked closely with Lord Mostyn and Mostyn Estates to develop the store design in keeping with Llandudno and Bangor but also portraying our new look.”

With the new stores scheduled to open in October, a new TV advert featuring brand ambassador Gethin Jones and some fabulous festive limited edition pieces, Clogau is preparing to make sure their  customers have a very special Christmas.
