Bangor born Nathan Broadhead has joined the Wales training camp that kick-starts Cymru’s preparation for EURO 2020.
Broadhead has enjoyed a successful season at Everton, scoring 11 goals for the U23s. Having trained with the Everton first team this season and being named on the bench for several games, he finally made his Premier League debut as late substitute in a 0-0 draw at Brighton.
Training Camp
Players in clubs that have already completed the football season have joined up at the FAW’s National Elite Centre, lead by Robert Page, Kit Symons and Paul Bodin, the Cymru Under 21 manager. Kit Symons is on camp for the first time since Robert Page appointed him to the coaching staff earlier this month.
This camp gives the opportunity to a selection of Cymru youth players to train alongside established senior team players such as Chris Gunter and Joe Allen as well as impress Robert Page’s coaching staff before they look to finalize Cymru’s final 26-player squad for EURO 2020.
A larger group of players will join the group on Sunday 23 May to fly out to Portugal for a pre-EURO warm weather training camp. This will be the players’ last opportunity to stake a claim for a coveted spot in the final EURO 2020 squad which will be announced on Sunday 30 May.
