The Mantell Gwynedd van will be parked at Storiel, Bangor, on 1st January between 10am-4pm with volunteers distributing hot soup, sandwiches and hot drinks to help the homeless people in Bangor.

The van which is usually used for community events and projects, will also be used to distribute hats, gloves and socks to the homeless, which are essential during the cold weather.

Free Health Checks for Dogs

A Veterinary surgeon will also be attending and offering free health checks for dogs of the homeless. For countless homeless men and women, their dog is a lifeline. Veterinary care can often prove difficult to access and impossible to afford for people living on the street, or with no steady income.

The initiative is being organised in conjunction with staff from the Abbey Road centre in Bangor, and offers an important point of contact for the homeless at this time of the year.

Mantell Gwynedd’s main role is to support voluntary and community groups within the Third Sector in Gwynedd.

If you speak to a homeless person over the festive season then please share this amazing act of kindness.
