Following a week-long trial at Caernarfon Crown Court, Mihai Panait Surcica has been found guilty of a Section 18 Wounding and sentenced to 8 years in prison.
The incident occurred on the High Street in Bangor on the 11th September 2020.
Following a disagreement with the victim, the defendant went home and armed himself with a knife, before returning to the scene where he stabbed the victim to the back and slashed a second victim across their leg.
Detective Constable Geraint Jones of North Wales Police welcomed the sentence: “Today’s verdict sends a clear message that North Wales Police will not tolerate offences of this nature.
“We are committed to pursuing offenders who cause the greatest harm in our communities and north Wales is a safer place as a result of the sentence imposed today.
“Whilst knife crime of this nature is rare in North Wales, we continue to work with our partners and communities to tackle these issues.”
