Freezing temperatures are forecast this week, stating tonight, as a bitterly cold wind dubbed ‘The Beast from the East’ sweeps in from Siberia. Temperatures will plummet to -5 °C at night and hardly rising above freezing during the day, but with the wind-chill factor it will feel much colder.
Weather Warning
The Met Office have issued a weather warning for snow on Tuesday for most of Wales, but Anglesey and Bangor look set to miss out yet again.
The Met office warning reads: “Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures. There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.”
With the cold temperatures set to last all week, there is chance of more snow likely towards the weekend on Thursday and Friday.
