The Police and Crime Commissioner and North Wales Police are offering free training for salon staff across North Wales, to raise awareness and help them recognise signs of domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse victims may visit hair salons and hairdressers maybe the only person that abuse victim will speak to other than their partner.
The free training seminar will help hairdressers learn about identifying the signs a victim is being abused and what they can do to help. Survivors of domestic abuse will also talk about their experiences.
On average, seven women a month are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales. 21% of all murders are domestic related, 43% of women murdered are domestic related and 8% of men murdered are domestic related.
The free seminar is open to all who work within the hair and beauty industry, salon owners, employees and self employed mobile hairdressers and beauty therapists.
There will be some light refreshments available and free domestic violence information pack for everyone who attends.
