A former pub on Bangor High Street has been sold at auction for £275,000.
The former Y Ranch pub, located at 146-148 High Street, was auctioned online on March 12, 2025, by Auction House Wales. The property, which had been closed since 2022, previously operated as a bar and restaurant. It features spacious bar areas, a kitchen, and owner’s accommodation, covering a total floorspace of 837 square meters. The site also includes a car park and an outdoor seating area.
The pub faced challenges during the COVID-19 lockdowns and pandemic restrictions. Although it initially managed to survive, the energy crisis in 2022 ultimately forced its closure.
In 2016, planning permission was granted for a four-story development on the site, including two retail units and 15 student apartments. While the approval has since lapsed, the property remains a strong candidate for future redevelopment.
