Bangor’s biggest pothole has finally been filled thanks to the film crew of ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’ who spent the weekend transforming the area at Treborth in Bangor into a film set, for scenes that will be used in the movie.
The huge pothole measured approximately one metre by half- a-metre and was up to 15cms deep in places, despite numerous complaints from relatives visiting the nearby Ceris Newydd Nursing Home and complaints to Gwynedd Council, the pothole had remained unfilled.
Menai bridge was closed on Sunday morning as the filming took place, the scenes are believed to involve a character leaping from the bridge, which is under construction, landing on a paddle steamer passing below. A helicopter was also involved in the filming.
The movie, which stars Robert Downey Jr, is being produced by Universal Pictures and is due to be released in April 2019.
