CPD Merched Bangor FC is excited to announce its involvement in the Football Association of Wales (FAW) BE.FC programme, an initiative designed to empower teenage girls across Wales to participate in football in a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment.
The programme is part of FAW’s broader vision, “Our Wales: For Her,” which aims to engage 20,000 women and girls in football by 2026.
With the support of BE.FC, CPD Merched Bangor FC will offer community-based sessions for girls aged 12-16, allowing them to explore their love of football without the pressure of competition. The programme will provide branded equipment, structured training, and ongoing support from FAW, enabling local girls to enjoy the game while building confidence, friendships, and resilience.
Ffion Thomas, Treasurer and Board member of CPD Merched Bangor FC, expressed her excitement: “This is a fantastic opportunity for girls in the area to be part of something special. We are proud of the team’s journey and look forward to collaborating closely with FAW to foster a bright future for female football, both locally and throughout Wales.”
Dafydd Evans echoed Ffion’s enthusiasm, adding, “The BE.FC programme aligns perfectly with our club’s mission of making football accessible to everyone. Partnering with FAW allows us to strengthen our role in the community and inspire young girls to reach their potential on and off the pitch.”
CPD Merched Bangor FC also takes pride in its connection to Bangor City Stadium, working together to build a lasting legacy for football in the region. This initiative represents a broader effort by Bangor City Stadium to foster a sense of pride and excitement in local football, showcasing the talent and dedication of the community.
Through their participation in BE.FC, CPD Merched Bangor FC is helping to pave the way for a stronger, more inclusive football culture that reflects the passion, community pride, and talent inherent in Bangor and Wales as a whole.
