North Wales Police have thanked members of the public who reported a campervan which was parked overnight in Bangor.
The campervan was reported to police this morning, Thursday 9 April, and the occupants have since been spoken to by police and have now been sent back home. The occupants had travelled from the West Midlands to see their family, which is not deemed as essential travel.
Following the government’s guidance on social distancing in relation to COVID-19, people should avoid travelling unless it is essential.
Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People must remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.
A statement from North Wales Police said: “We will continue to be out on patrol 24/7 and do our utmost to keep everyone safe, but we can’t be everywhere all of the time.
“Remember the virus doesn’t move – people move the virus. Please play your part in this national effort – we’re staying out here for you, please stay home for us.”
