McDonald’s restaurant in Bangor has reopened with a brand-new look, after a £750,000 refurbishment.
The fast-food franchise on Caernarfon Road closed on 21 February to undergo the transformation, which has given the restaurant a fresh new look.
The store re-opened today – with a wide range of changes to the building. The interior has been completely redesigned with a brand-new geometry-inspired style, as well as some functional changes to make the McDonald’s experience better for customers.
This includes a revamp of all the furniture, which is made with partly recycled or certified materials, designed to be recycled or reused at end of their life.
With new artwork on the walls, and a change to the colour scheme, including bright reds introduced to complement the neutral whites, greys, and blacks, giving a fresh, minimalistic look.
While the store has to follow themes issued by McDonald’s, franchises choose their own artwork which works best for each store – making each one unique and individual. While the store was closed, staff were relocated to other stores owned by the franchise.
The refurbishment has also included a completely new kitchen refit, new flooring, staff room, outside kiosk windows and a new collection point for delivery, where Just Eat in addition to Uber Eats will be able to collect orders quickly and easily. A new recycling point will make it easier for customers to separate their paper cups and plastics.
Customers can order through the touch screens in store, or through its free app, but still have the option to order at the redesigned counter if they prefer.
All things considered we’re giving this refurb a Big Bangor Aye 10/10.
