Penrhyn Bay Women and Girls Football Club Under 12s Wildcats team, will be taking on a 20 mile challenge this Easter Saturday, riding from Bangor Pier to Llandudno Pier in their annual charity fundraiser.
All funds raised in the sponsored bike ride will be split between 50/50 between the football club and St David’s Hospice, which the girls have chosen to support for the third year running. Previous charity challenges have seen the team climb Eryri, and cycle from Kimnel Bay to Llandudno.
The team has set a goal of raising £1,000, with 50% of the target already pledged via the Just Giving page. The share of the funds raised for the team will go towards equipment, kit
and subsidising the cost of activities for the team, keeping the cost down for parents and ensuring as many children as possible have the opportunity to get involved.
Under 12s Wildcats coach Carl Murphy said: “This 20 mile ride will be a big challenge for the girls – especially as they’ll be playing a crucial football match in the morning before setting off. But they’re determined to raise as much as they can, and I know they’ll all dig deep to cross the finish line.”
“I’m delighted the team has chosen to support St David’s hospice again – it’s a charity that’s touched the lives of so many families here. I hope everyone gets behind the team and helps raise as much money as we can.”
