Bangor City Council have given notice of a vacancy in the office of councillor for Hirael Ward.
The vacancy has arisen after Independent Councillor Keith Jones stood down from Bangor City Council. He will continue to represent Hirael on Gwynedd Council.
An election will be held to fill the vacancy if a request in writing for an election is sent to the Returning Officer, Gwynedd Council, Council Offices, Caernarfon, Gwynedd LL55 1SH by ten electors of the said ward within the period ending at 12 noon on Friday, 11 October 2019.
In the absence of a request for an election, the vacancy will be filled by the City Council.
Hirael is one of eight electoral wards in the city of Bangor and has a population of 1,706 according to the 2011 Census. Hirael has two councillors representing the ward on Bangor City Council and one on Gwynedd Council.
