Youngsters on Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Children’s Ward have been celebrating the hospital’s first ever Welsh Language Week.

Selog, the star of a Welsh language app created by Menter Mon, and Ysbyty Gwynedd’s very own Welsh Language Services mascot Macsen y Meddyg, surprised children and staff with a visit to the ward.

Activities were held on the ward to promote the Welsh language with local Mentrau Iaith, to launch Macsen y Meddyg certificates.

The purpose of the awareness week is to promote the Welsh language and emphasise the importance of providing bilingual services for patients.
