The Mayor of Bangor, Councillor John Wyn Williams, has announced that Mr Iwan Marc Williams has been appointed to the role of City Director for Bangor City Council and he will start the new role on 1st January 2021.
Mr Williams is originally from Llandysul and has lived in Bangor, with his wife and two small daughters, for over a year. He has experience of working in the public sector both in Wales and also in Europe.
The City Director role will involve working in partnership with the communities, business and all stakeholders to make the city attractive, safe and vibrant place to live, work and invest in. To do this the Council will focus its activities on the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the communities and residents.
In addition, the City Director will be proactive with the communities, businesses and all stakeholders in Bangor, motivating and managing the council staff for the purpose of making the city attractive, safe and vibrant to live, work and invest in. The role also carries out the traditional roles of Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.
