A 33 year old Anglesey man will appear in court today, 19 July, having been charged with assaulting a nurse and four Police officers at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor yesterday, Wednesday 18 July 2018.
The man has also been charged with causing a nuisance on NHS premises, criminal damage to police property, theft and a public order offence.
Police described his behaviour as “disgraceful”
Assaults on NHS staff increased by nearly 10% last year, with nurses reporting that staffing pressures have contributed to the rise in incidents.
NHS trusts reported a total of 56,435 physical assaults on staff on 2016-17 – a 9.7% increase on the 51,447 reported the previous year.
