Despite the grey skies and drizzle, three determined teenagers from Maesgeirchen in Bangor, known as the MaesG Strimmers, showed up ready to work at Saturday’s Community Day at Caban Cegin, and ended up stealing the show.

The event, aimed at tidying and refreshing the Caban Cegin community space, saw low turnout due to poor weather. But the MaesG Strimmers team didn’t let that stop them. Rolling up their sleeves, they spent the day clearing, tidying, and cleaning the site, all on a voluntary basis.

“These lads gave their time for free and didn’t hesitate to get their hands dirty,” said one of the organisers. “They were the only ones who came, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

MaesG Strimmers is a budding gardening and outdoor maintenance business started by the three local lads, aiming to support residents in Maesgeirchen with garden work such as mowing, trimming, and general upkeep. They are now trying to raise funds to buy a lawnmower, which would help them expand their services and reach more people in the area.

If you’d like to support their growing venture or need help with your garden, check out MaesG Strimmers on their Facebook page. Whether you’re looking for a tidy-up or simply want to back a hardworking, youth-led local business, they’re ready to help — and they’re genuinely awesome.
