With the care sector facing recruitment challenges, Gwynedd Council is staging a recruitment session to attract new staff for the Plas Hedd residential home in Bangor.
As part of a general campaign in the care sector, a face to face event will be held at the Maesgeirchen Youth Centre in Bangor on Friday, 4 March from 12pm until 5pm.
Councillor Dafydd Meurig, Gwynedd Council’s Cabinet Member for Care said: “Ensuring that there are enough care staff is a challenge facing services across the country. As a Council, we are very proud of our dedicated staff who provide quality care to people in care homes and in the community and I know that their work makes a real difference to people’s lives every day.
“As part of our ongoing recruitment drive, we are hosting a session for the Plas Hedd home in Bangor – it will be an opportunity for prospective staff to hear about the work and learn about the benefits of working for us as a Council.
“So, if you are someone who likes to help people and wants to make a big difference within your local community, I would encourage you to come along to the event on 4 March.”
The recruitment event will be open to anyone who wants to learn more about current opportunities within the home and what support the Council and the Department of Work and Pensions have to support individuals into work.
On the day there will be a chance to hear about the benefits of working for the Council, information about training and support available for new staff, a taste of care and what it’s like to work in a residential home including a chance to chat from some Plas Hedd staff.
Anyone interested in finding out more about working in a residential home is welcome – the session will be open from 12pm until 5pm on Friday, 4 March at the Maesgeirchen Youth Centre in Bangor (LL57 1LS).
