North Wales Police have made further drug related arrests in Bangor, in ‘Operation Rattle’ which is targeting Merseyside based organised crime groups who are active in the city.
Momentum continues to build against those involved in the supply of controlled drugs in North West Wales as further seizures and arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of last Friday’s operation in Bangor. Two Misuse of Drugs Act search warrants were carried out in the city on Friday morning resulting in the arrest of one person and seizure of controlled drugs.
The same evening a further warrant and search took place in Llys Bedwyr, Bangor resulting in the arrest of a 25 year old Merseyside man area and 46 year old local woman for being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and money laundering. A quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs, along with a small amount of Class B drugs and cash, were seized. All those arrested on Friday have since been released under investigation.
Inspector Owain Llewellyn from Bangor Police Station said, “This was the third search warrant that we executed that day. All are linked to Operation Rattle which is specifically targeting the supply of drugs by Merseyside based organised crime groups and we have more planned for the coming days and weeks. It has been really pleasing to see the reaction of the local community to this enforcement action. As always I would ask that people continue to share information with us so we can carry out further proactive work.”
“Keeping communities safe remains a priority for North Wales Police and in line with the force’s Operation Scorpion is directly targeting serious and organised crime. Possession and distribution of controlled drugs will not be tolerated and we will continue to take positive, robust action. However we can’t tackle this problem alone and key to all our work, and that of our partners, is intelligence and we cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing their concerns with us.”
