Big films, live theatre, comedy and community events — there’s plenty happening at Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre this week.

Science teacher Ryland Grace wakes up alone on a spaceship light-years from Earth. As his memory returns, he uncovers a mission to stop a mysterious substance killing the sun, and save Earth. An unexpected friendship may be the key.
Pictiwrs + Pram: The Housemaid (15)

‘Pictwrs a Pram’ offers a unique experience for parents/carers with babies under 12 months old. It’s a chance to see the latest films in a safe and non-judgmental environment, with reduced volume and increased lighting. You will not be able to select your seat when booking but there are limited number of tickets available (20) and plenty of room for you in the Cinema.
Don’t worry about your pram; you can keep it parked at the cinema. If your baby is fussy or needs to eat, you can feel comfortable doing so while watching the latest titles.
Screenings are free of charge for babies, and adults pay £5. ‘Pictiwrs a Pram’ screenings are for parents/carers and their baby but if you have an older child with you and the certificate is U, PG or 12A, they can also attend (no ticket required for children under 2).

A special screening to celebrate 30 years since the film’s release.
A modern twisted version of William Shakespeare’s play about two young people from opposite families who fall in love in secret. Multiple events will shape their lives that will leave them and their families in trouble and punishment in the city.

Andy Fairweather Low & The Low Riders

Andy Fairweather Low came to prominence as the lead singer in Amen Corner. The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’, ‘( If Paradise is ) Half As Nice’ are internationally remembered to this day. But if you were paying close attention, you might have picked up a clue in their first single the magnificent ‘Gin House’ as to Andy’s future musical collaborations.

Lunch on the Fly
This is a fun session in which you can have a go at vertical dance. Starting with an easy warm up, you will then try to stand on and jump off a vertical floor using waist harnesses. You will be guided through some simple positions, and then you will fly!
Wear comfortable clothing with snug layers around waist and top of legs.

This harness session is for those with some experience of vertical dance or a developed physical practice. This session focuses on conditioning exercises specific for Vertical Dance and creative techniques to further the practice.

Dance for Parkinson’s – weekly sessions on Tuesday

National Dance Company Wales is excited to launch new Dance for Parkinson’s classes in Bangor!
Dance for Parkinson’s classes are fun and informal.
Dance has been proven to develop confidence and strength, whilst temporarily relieving some participants of symptoms in everyday life. Classes are creative and promote feelings of freedom from the physical and social constraints of having Parkinson’s.
We are an Affiliated hub of English National Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme.
Classes are 90 minutes long, and all you’ll need is a chair.
English National Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme has been running since 2008. We are proud to be part of the Dance for PD membership, to support Dance for Parkinson’s Partnership and People Dancing and to have an affiliation with Parkinson’s UK. ENB’s national Dance for Parkinson’s programme enjoys close links with Parkinson’s UK and the European Parkinson’s Disease Association EPDA.
Caffi Babis – first Friday of the month

Caffi Babis is a new session that we offer for new parents and their babies.
This is a creatvie hour with Siwan Llynor and Angharad Harrop that gives new parents the opportunity to meet other parents, as well as to relax with your baby for a while. An hour to bring parents together, in a safe space. Eeach session will last around 45 minutes, with the opportunity to have a chat afterwards.
The session is most suitable for children up to 24 months, however, older children are welcome to join.
