This Much I Know to be True (15)

Andrew Dominik, 2021,105m

Cast: Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Marianne Faithful

Wednesday May 11 8pm

£13/£11/£10

This musical global cinema event is unmissable. Shot on location in London & Brighton, Andrew Dominik’s new feature documentary THIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE captures legendary musicians Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ exceptional creative relationship as they bring to life the songs from their last two studio albums, Ghosteen and Carnage.

In this document of their first ever performances of these albums, filmed in spring 2021 ahead of their UK tour, we see the two, accompanied by singers and string quartet, as they nurture each song into existence. The film features a special appearance by close friend and long-term collaborator, Marianne Faithfull.

THIS MUCH I KNOW TO BE TRUE will prove to be a wonderful cinema event and another significant moment in the journeys of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, capturing the mood and spirit of the pair as they move through a new, optimistic phase.

Theatr Bryn Terfel

A Theatr Clwyd, Áine Flanagan Productions and Seiriol Davies production

Milky Peaks

Devised by Seiriol Davies, Matthew Blake, Dylan Townley

A hilarious new musical.

Wednesday 11 May

Thursday 12 May

7.30pm

Theatr Bryn Terfel

£10 – £20

In the bosom of Snowdonia nestles the town of Milky Peaks: charmingly Welsh and gleamingly pebble-dashed. It’s a great place to live. Mostly.

Dewi, the fabulous hotel receptionist, just came out and yearns to be special. The Mother loves Wales and her family, if only they knew she was there. Drag queen Pariah Carey’s drowning her past in absinthe with a swarfega chaser; while Linda runs the Arts Centre with an iron fist, terrified of putting on something weird. And Alun John, rugby club legend and corrupt millionaire landowner? He just wants everyone to be happy.

It’s a normal Welsh town.

But when it’s nominated as “Britain’s Best Town” by a dark, shadowy organisation, everything it stands for risks being lost. Can its soul be saved?

A dazzling new musical written by and starring acclaimed Welsh writer/composer Seiriol Davies, reuniting with the team from How To Win Against History. Expect fast-paced humour, power ballads, sharp choreography and catchy numbers that will stick right in your head.

The perfect night out for the musicals or comedy fan!

A ferocious musical comedy.

Now, we’re opening the workshops to everyone, movement workshops, that encourage you to relax, move and exercise from our Studio Theatre (or online through Zoom on 3rd February). The workshops are suitable for everyone aged 18+, and encourage you to move through improvisation and dance – but all within your ability on the day of the workshop. Sometimes, we want to move and exercise and on other days, not so much.

The workshops aren’t strenuous, open to all and in our Studio and online (3rd February only). We’ll ensure that there is time for you at the end of every session to socialise and meet new people, we hope this is an opportunity for you to move and socialise.
