UniBrass, the world’s only inter-university brass band championships returns to Bangor University on the 8th February 2020.
Brass bands from across the UK will descend on Bangor to compete in the Trophy and Shield sections, in the 10th annual University Brass Band Championships of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
UniBrass is the largest University Brass Band Championship in the UK and is being organised by current students and alumni of Bangor University supported by the UniBrass Foundation; a charity set up to aid the development of the contest and to encourage students to continue playing in brass bands through university.
The contest will see 21 bands from universities across the UK compete in two sections; the UniBrass Trophy and the UniBrass Shield. Each band will perform an entertaining 20 minute set in the hope to be crowned champion by the adjudicators.
This year’s contest is significant as we will be celebrating 10 Years of UniBrass, from humble beginnings in Lancaster to now being one of the largest Brass Band Contests in the UK.
Contest tickets for UniBrass 2020 are now on sale directly from the Pontio website. Tickets include access to both the Trophy Section in Theatr Bryn Terfel and the Shield Section in Prichard-Jones Hall. The Trophy Section has assigned seating and you will have to select your seat(s) before purchasing the tickets. The Shield Section has unreserved seating.
