Talented young performers at ‘Blas’ arts participation project at Pontio in Bangor have been selected to participate in the prestigious National Theatre Project Connections.

The BLAS (Taste in English) of the Arts project, is designed to give local children, who don’t traditionally engage with the arts, the opportunity to take part, reducing barriers so everyone regardless of ability and background can take par.

The local children from Class Year 10 – 13, will now have the opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage, but they need your help to make it happen.

Out of hundreds of applicants, the passionate and dedicated group has been chosen to represent Blas in this transformative project. This is not only a chance for them to grow as artists but also an opportunity to put Bangor on the map for its vibrant and dynamic arts community.

However, to fully embrace this opportunity, they are seeking your support to cover essential costs such as additional rehearsal funding, costumes, props, and transportation. Your generous contributions will not only ensure that our young performers have the resources they need but also pave the way for a potential trip to perform at the prestigious National Theatre!

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  1. Rehearsal Funding: Your support will enable us to schedule additional rehearsals, ensuring our performers are well-prepared for the spotlight.
  2. Costumes and Props: Help us create a visually stunning and captivating performance by contributing towards the cost of costumes and props that will bring our production to life.
  3. Bus to Aberystwyth Arts Centre: Following a performance at Pontio they will have to travel to the Aberystwyth Arts Centre, to perform alongside other drama schools as part of the Connections Festival. Your support will cover the expenses of a bus, making this journey possible.
