Storiel Museum in Bangor will reopen its doors today, Wednesday 18 November, following a period of being closed to conform with the Coronavirus restrictions. It won’t be open as usual as there are new safety measures in place to keep staff and visitors safe.

Storiel is a location that keeps and display many historical artefacts and protect collections that are linked with Gwynedd. As well as this they display local arts and craft. But, all this was behind locked doors since the Coronavirus restrictions.

Over the lockdown, Storiel has had the opportunity to create new displays for you to enjoy in your visit now that the restrictions have been lifted.

Councillor Gareth Thomas said: “Even-though it’s still a busy and worrying time within our communities because of Coronavirus, it’s very affirmative to see that locations like Storiel will be opening their doors safely.

“With the winter nearing, there are less things to do to entertain our families. Having locations like these reopening is a great opportunity to do this safely and support the local economy. All the best to Storiel staff re-opening.”

From the 18th of November onwards it will be possible to visit Storiel between 11am-4pm Mondays to Saturdays.

Megan Cynan Corcoran, Museum Coordinator added: “We have tried our best to make sure that Storiel will be able to provide special experiences to local citizens as safely as possible.

“We’re all looking forward to having everyone back to enjoy our displays and to have some excitement back in the Building.”

It’s required for you to book your space before visiting Storiel by visiting their website www.storiel.cymru. Also, it’s possible to call Storiel 01248 353368 during the opening times. There’ll be a time limit of an hour and a maximum of six persons in a group at a time, this all will ensure that they keep everyone safe and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
