Siân Gwenllian joined local residents in Bangor today campaigning for the play area at Maestryfan to be upgraded.

The Member of the Senedd for Arfon attended the outdoor public meeting held in the park on Friday 11.06.21, calling for the upgrading of Lôn y Glyder play area in Maestryfan.

The campaign aims to have the park upgraded with new equipment and better facilities for local children.

As well as local families and individuals, the meeting was attended by the local Member of the Senedd Siân Gwenllian, Bangor councillors Catrin Wager and Elin Walker Jones, and Mayor Owen J Hurcum.

Siân Gwenllian MS said: “I attended a very constructive public meeting today, a meeting held as part of the campaign to upgrade Lôn y Glyder play area in Maestryfan.

“The meeting was attended by enthusiastic locals and councillors, and I support the campaigners. I am glad that there is a general consensus to move forward.”

A statement on the campaign groups Facebook Page said: “We are looking for support from the residents of Maestryfan, the local surrounding areas, and anybody that uses the Playground at the end of Trem Elidir and Lon Y Glyder.

“As some of you may have already noticed, some of the equipment in the park was recently repaired and painted following residents’ complaints to our Councillor Elin Walker Jones.

“While the repairs were welcomed and very much appreciated, there is still a lot more that needs doing to make the park fun, safe, enjoyable and inviting for children of all ages and their families.“
