North Wales Police have issued a warning to keep children off social media after reports of a graphic video – showing a man committing suicide.
The video is circulating on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok and involves the man taking his own life with a gun.
The video first started circulating on Sunday night and TikTok have said the app’s systems are “detecting and flagging” clips of the video, and the team is banning users who “repeatedly” try to upload the video to the platform.
Creators have posted to social media warning to the TikTok community about the clip, and encouraging people to swipe away from the video if they encounter it.
Police said: “We are aware of a graphic video that is being shared widely on social media which shows a man live-streaming his own suicide.
“We strongly recommend that you keep your children offline today if at all possible, and heavily supervise all online interactions until this content is removed by the social media companies.
“Support is available if you have been affected.”
Support is available via the Meic helpline, who provide support for children and young people in Wales.
