Detectives from North Wales Police are appealing for information after reports a vehicle approached three children in Caernarfon on Thursday night, 21 October.
Officers from Caernarfon CID are currently investigating a report of an attempt abduction that occurred in the Hendre area of Caernarfon between 7.15-7.45pm last night.
A white van pulled alongside 3 children on the Ffordd Eryri / Cefn Hendre and told one of the children to get in the van.
Concerns were raised on social media surrounding the incident, meanwhile a similar incident reported to police in Bangor has been investigated and is not linked to the incident in Caernarfon.
Detective Inspector Andrew Gibson said: “We’d like to reassure the community that incidents like this are very rare and we have a dedicated team of detectives working to establish the circumstances today.
“Can I please ask for any witnesses to come forward and also anyone who may have been driving around the area during this time who may have dash-cam footage of the vehicle to get in touch.
“We are also aware of a similar report made in Bangor yesterday morning. This was swiftly investigated; all parties were identified, and no offences disclosed. We are not treating these as linked incidents”.
