A man has sustained serious injuries following a road traffic collision on Caernarfon Road in Bangor yesterday afternoon, Thursday, 25 July.

Police received a report by the Ambulance Service just before 4:15pm to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the mini roundabout outside the Union Inn pub involving a trails-type motorcycle and a yellow Suzuki.

The emergency services attended including the Air Ambulance and the rider, a local man in his 20’s, was airlifted to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries.

Sergeant Meurig Jones of the Roads Policing Unit: “We are appealing for anybody who saw the orange and black coloured trails-type motorcycle being ridden in the Ainon Road and Heol Ddewi area at approximately 4pm, or the yellow Suzuki, which was travelling along Caernarfon Road from the direction of the city centre to contact us.

“We are also urging anybody who witnessed the collision and who is yet to contact us to do so as soon as possible.

“Local enquiries are now underway and we are also appealing to anybody who lives in the vicinity and who may have CCTV cameras to contact us.”
