The Oxfam shop in Bangor will close permanently in February, the charity has confirmed.

 

 

The well-stocked shop on Bangor High Street, had a popular in-store Bookshop and a great selection of donated items. According to the Oxfam website “the donated range is probably one of the best in North Wales, always well stocked with quality donated clothes, shoes and handbags.” The charity outlet also sold Fairtrade food, gifts and cards.

A notice in the shop window read: “It is with sadness that we must announce the closure of the Bangor Oxfam Shop. Our final day of trading will be Saturday 4th February.

“We would like to sincerely thank our amazing customers and donors who have supported this store for many years.

“We would also like to show our great appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our volunteer teams, both past and present.”

A statement on the Oxfam website confirmed the closure, “We are sorry to inform you that we are not able to take any further donations as the shop will be closing in February. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful customers, donors, volunteers and all those who have supported the shop in helping raise such vital funds for Oxfam’s work over the years.”
