Bangor University celebrated diversity and talent amongst its students, staff and the local community earlier this month, with the annual One World Gala event.
The event, held on 10 March, saw everything from Welsh clogs to Indonesian song medleys, pole fitness and Chinese traditional instruments, there were acts representing many corners of the Globe.
The University’s International Student Support Office has been organising the Gala for more than a decade, but this year was extra-special after 3 years of silence due to Covid-19.
Marcel Clusa, co-organiser of the event mentioned “Tonight it wasn’t only a celebration of the diversity of nationalities here at Bangor, but it was also a celebration of our return to campus, as some sort of normality finally returns after the difficult two years we’ve had with the covid pandemic.
“It is an event which we look forward to every year and after a long break, students have been truly excited to showcase their talents, and share their cultural performances. But not only that, we have seen students, staff members, parents and members from the local community engage on those performances.
“This is truly important for us as we see the Gala as an opportunity for the University & Bangor to engage in celebration of the multicultural nature of the city.”
