North Wales Police’s success in removing harmful drugs on our streets continued on Tuesday when police in Bangor executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant in Mount Street and recovered a quantity of what they believe to be class A controlled drugs and a significant amount of cash.
Two men, a 47 year old from Bangor and 20 year old from Merseyside were arrested for being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and money laundering.
Sergeant Doug Hughes at Bangor Police station said “Despite it being so close to the festive season our commitment in keeping our communities safe and targeting offenders remains unabated and today’s action under Operation Rattle is part of that process and aimed at those bringing drugs into our communities from outside north Wales. In line with Operation Scorpion’ we are directly targeting serious and organised crime. Once again It was clear from local reaction this mornings action was well received and further is planned.”
“Possession and distribution of controlled drugs will not be tolerated in our communities and we will continue to take positive, robust action. However we can’t tackle this problem alone and key to all our work, and that of our partners, is intelligence and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing their concerns with us.
