A new Taekwondo class has opened in Bangor giving Men, Women & Children, from the age of 4, an opportunity to learn the traditional Korean martial art, characterized by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.
The new class is held at the Normal Site Sports Hall in Bangor, with instructor Mark Dowling, a 2nd Degree Black belt, who has been teaching Taekwondo in Colwyn bay for the last five years. Mark said: “I have been the Instructor at Colwyn Bay for five years and I have loyal students who have been training with me since I was granted the club with a number having achieved Black Belt status.
“I have students from Anglesey who said that ideally they would like a club slightly closer but with the previous Bangor club closing over twelve months ago, by the previous instructor, they were having to travel to Colwyn Bay.
“Their request prompted me to look for premises in the Bangor area and a after a couple of months I have now found an ideal venue which my students are extremely pleased about.
“I am a member of the TAGB which is a nationwide association with twenty-five thousand members. All students are licensed with instructors being DBS checked; First aid trained and are qualified as Instructors.”
Classes are held on Tuesdays between 6pm-7pm and cost £20 per month, with discounts available for families. The first four classes are Free.
For more information about the new class please contact Mark by phone or Email or simply attend the class on a Tuesday evening.
